We are also committed to improve the standard of living in these “ultra-poor” areas by developing and operating shelters for children. We are currently operating 6 Children’s homes with an approximate strength of 200. Through these shelters, we are providing safe and clean living conditions for homeless children. The children living in each shelter will be taught a basic secular primary school curriculum. This will provide such children with a strong educational foundation that they would otherwise not receive.
e are working with local social relief agencies to find impoverished and homeless families and children to populate the shelters. Prospective residents in the our shelters will be screened and supervised by our volunteers to ensure that they are homeless and have no other safe place to reside. Candidates may be referred by social relief agencies or may be found by our volunteers. Occupants are provided with basic amenities, including meals, a shared, dormitory-style bedroom and bathing facilities. Arrangements will be made for occupants to meet with staff from government or social service agencies to access needed services and resources.
